Obama blasts law firms, universities, and businesses for yielding to Trump, urges Americans to “take a stand” on Marc Maron’s final podcast episode.
Here’s What They Meant to Say
Obama’s Last Stand on Maron’s Sofa
In a predictable display of liberal sanctimony, Barack Obama chose Marc Maron’s podcast, ‘WTF With Marc Maron,’ to take his final bow. After 16 years and over 1,600 episodes, the show ended with Obama, the ultimate guest for a left-wing echo chamber. He didn’t miss the chance to bash President Donald Trump, whining about the country being ‘tested’ and urging his progressive pals to ‘take a stand.’ It’s rich coming from a guy who spent his presidency golfing and jet-setting around the world.
Obama’s appearance on Maron’s show back when it was in its infancy helped catapult the podcast to fame. Now, with the platform firmly established, Obama returned to lecture America about Trump’s policies. He even had the audacity to compare today’s protests to Nelson Mandela’s struggle against apartheid. What a stretch! Obama’s call for law firms, universities, and businesses to resist Trump’s administration reeks of desperation and a refusal to accept that his party lost the election.
Masked Men and Kangaroo Courts?
Obama’s most ludicrous claim was that Trump’s policies have led to ‘masked folks with rifles and machine guns patrolling our streets’ and ‘kangaroo courts and trumped up charges.’ This is the kind of fear-mongering we’ve come to expect from the left. Where are these masked militias and kangaroo courts, Barack? Last I checked, it’s the left that’s been rioting in the streets and demanding defunding of the police.
He urged law firms to represent whoever they want and stand up for their ‘core mission.’ What about the core mission of representing the law, Barack? And universities should risk losing federal grants to maintain ‘academic independence’? How about focusing on education rather than indoctrination? Obama’s plea for businesses to resist ‘bullying’ over hiring practices is laughable. It’s called following the law, something the left seems to have trouble with.
Voting and Consequences
Obama tried to scare voters by saying not voting has consequences. He painted a grim picture of Hispanic men being stopped and detained because they ‘look Latino.’ It’s the same old race-baiting from the left. If Obama was so concerned about these issues, why didn’t he do more during his eight years in office?
He also criticized the Democratic Party for being ‘annoying’ and likened progressive language to the religious right’s ‘holier-than-thou superiority.’ It’s hilarious hearing Obama admit his party’s faults after years of blaming everything on Republicans. He even laughed at Maron’s comment about progressives annoying people into fascism. Maybe if Democrats stopped being so sanctimonious, they’d win more elections.
The End of an Era
As Maron’s podcast comes to an end, Obama tried to spin it as a sign of hope, citing Maron’s ‘core decency’ as a reason to believe ‘we’re going to be OK.’ It’s typical Obama—always trying to put a positive spin on things, even when his own party’s policies have failed.
Maron and his producing partner Brendan McDonald admitted they’re tired and burnt out but ‘utterly satisfied’ with their work. It’s a fitting end for a show that’s spent years promoting left-wing views. As for Obama, he’ll continue to blame Trump for everything from the weather to his golf handicap. But hey, at least he’s consistent in his whining.
