Juliana Stratton’s bold campaign triumphs in Illinois, securing a primary win to succeed Senator Durbin, fueled by courage and progressive support.

Here’s What They Meant to Say

A ‘Courageous’ Victory?

Oh, the drama! Illinois Lieutenant Governor Juliana Stratton somehow managed to snag the Democratic primary for the Senate, all while claiming her victory was fueled by ‘courage.’ What she really means is that she outspent her opponents with Governor Pritzker’s cash infusion. But hey, let’s not let facts get in the way of a good liberal narrative. Stratton’s win over Raja Krishnamoorthi by a mere six percentage points is being hailed as a triumph of the people’s will. Clearly, the people of Illinois are yearning for more of the same progressive policies that have done wonders for their state.

Stratton’s victory speech was a spectacle of progressive buzzwords. She promised to march her so-called ‘courage’ straight to Donald Trump’s doorstep. One can only wonder if this is the same courage that led to her conveniently changing her stance on immigration when it became politically expedient. But, of course, the liberal media will eat it up because nothing says ‘courage’ like pandering to the base.

The Left’s Infighting and Hypocrisy

Isn’t it amusing how liberals love to preach unity but can’t seem to stop themselves from tearing each other apart? Stratton’s competition, Robin Kelly, was supposed to split the progressive vote, but she barely made a dent. Despite the support of the Congressional Black Caucus and former Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot, Kelly couldn’t muster more than 20% of the vote. Perhaps the voters saw through the performative virtue signaling and chose the candidate with the deeper pockets.

Meanwhile, Krishnamoorthi, who raised a staggering $30 million, found himself criticized for accepting donations from Trump supporters and tech companies. The hypocrisy is palpable. It’s almost as if the left’s disdain for money in politics only applies when the cash isn’t flowing into their own coffers. But, in a twist of irony, Krishnamoorthi graciously conceded, taking a jab at Trump while doing so. Classy move, Raja.

The Progressive Agenda’s Return

Stratton’s campaign promises read like a progressive wish list: Medicare for all, a $25 minimum wage, and the abolishment of ICE. It’s a wonder she didn’t throw in free unicorn rides for all. With Chicago still reeling from ICE raids and protests, Stratton’s call to abolish ICE is nothing short of pandering to the far-left. Krishnamoorthi’s more ‘nuanced’ approach, calling for the abolishment of ‘Trump’s ICE,’ was evidently too moderate for the Illinois crowd.

Governor Pritzker’s contributions to the Illinois Future Pac certainly didn’t hurt Stratton’s chances. It’s amazing how ‘courage’ often seems to be bankrolled by wealthy donors. And let’s not forget her touching invocation of her civil rights activist father. Nothing tugs at the heartstrings like a good dose of emotional manipulation.

A Call for Resistance or More of the Same?

Stratton’s rhetoric about resisting and fighting a ‘righteous fight’ is the same tired narrative we’ve heard countless times before. It’s as if she believes she’s leading a revolution, when in reality, she’s just another cog in the Democratic machine. Her promise to ‘pull our democracy back from the brink’ is laughable, considering the party she’s part of is often the one pushing it to the edge.

With the general election looming, Stratton will face Republican Don Tracy. The odds are stacked in her favor, given Illinois’ recent electoral history. But perhaps voters will wake up and realize that more of the same progressive policies won’t solve the state’s problems. Until then, we’ll just have to sit back and watch as the left continues to pat themselves on the back for their ‘courageous’ victories.
