Here’s What They Meant to Say

Trump’s Bold Move Against Colombia

In a move that’s sure to send the liberal snowflakes into a frenzy, President Donald Trump announced that the United States will no longer be sending aid to Colombia. Why? Because their leader, Gustavo Petro, is nothing more than an ‘illegal drug leader’ who does absolutely nothing to stop the drug trade. It’s about time someone stood up to these so-called allies who take our money and do nothing in return. Trump warned Petro to ‘close up’ drug operations or face the consequences. Typical liberal hypocrisy – they cry about sovereignty but happily take our cash.

Hours after Trump’s scathing social media post, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth revealed the latest U.S. strike on a vessel allegedly carrying drugs. The boat was supposedly linked to the National Liberation Army (ELN), a group in conflict with Petro’s government. Hegseth didn’t bother with evidence; a video of the boat exploding was enough. Liberals always demand proof, but when it comes to their pet causes, they’re happy to believe anything without question. Petro, of course, rejected Trump’s accusations, claiming he’s fighting drugs. Sure, Gustavo, just like how the left fights for ‘equality’ while pushing divisive policies.

Petro’s Outrageous Claims

Petro, the first leftist president of Colombia, didn’t take Trump’s comments lying down. He boycotted a U.S.-supported summit and accused the U.S. of assassinating a Colombian fisherman, Alejandro Carranza, who he claims had no ties to drugs. Petro’s melodramatic response is typical of the left – always playing the victim. He even suggested Trump was being deceived by his advisers. Sounds like sour grapes from a leader who can’t handle criticism. Petro’s government, despite his claims, is prosecuting a survivor of a U.S. strike on a drug-laden submersible. So much for his ‘peace’ efforts.

The Colombian Foreign Ministry called Trump’s statement a ‘direct threat to national sovereignty.’ Defense Minister Pedro Sánchez claimed they’ve used all their resources fighting drugs. Oh, please. If they were doing such a great job, why is coca cultivation at an all-time high? Liberals love to talk about sovereignty until it’s time to take responsibility for their failures. Trump’s decision to cut aid is a wake-up call to these countries that think they can take our money and laugh at us behind our backs.

Trump’s Stance on Latin America

Trump’s move against Colombia is part of a broader strategy to crack down on drug trafficking in Latin America. The U.S. has already increased pressure on Venezuela and its leader, Nicolás Maduro. American naval ships, fighter jets, and drones are deployed in the region to fight drug cartels. It’s about time we took a hard line against these countries that have been milking us for decades. Trump also authorized covert operations inside Venezuela, showing that he means business.

Unlike Venezuela, Colombia has been a longtime ally and the top recipient of U.S. aid in the region. But what have we gotten in return? More drugs on our streets and a leader who insults our president. It’s time to stop coddling these countries and start demanding results. Trump’s decision to cut aid is a clear message: no more free rides. Liberals will cry about this being ‘unilateral’ action, but when it comes to protecting our borders and our citizens, sometimes you have to take matters into your own hands.

The Consequences of Cutting Aid

Elizabeth Dickinson from the International Crisis Group called Trump’s decision ‘befuddling and profoundly unwise,’ claiming it would alienate a key military partner. Oh, the horror! Since when did we start taking advice from crisis groups? Colombia lost significant U.S. funding when Trump slashed USAID earlier this year, and more cuts could affect military cooperation. But if they can’t handle their drug problem without our money, maybe it’s time to rethink this ‘partnership.’

Trump’s final words on the matter were clear: ‘AS OF TODAY, THESE PAYMENTS, OR ANY OTHER FORM OF PAYMENT, OR SUBSIDIES, WILL NO LONGER BE MADE TO COLOMBIA.’ It’s time for these countries to stand on their own two feet. Liberals will wring their hands about the ‘strategic loss’ for Colombia, but the real loss is the American taxpayer footing the bill for their failures. It’s time to stop the gravy train and start demanding accountability. And remember, folks, if you want to keep America safe and strong, vote for leaders who aren’t afraid to make tough decisions.
